I built a project that turns an ordinary laser pointer into a data link. Instead of sending information through wires or using radio waves, I used light as the medium of communication. A laser beam carried the data, and a light sensor on the other end turned those flashes back into digital information.

Finding Java socket programming confusing for beginners, I decided to create a simplified TCP communication library using java sockets. The built-in server and client classes communicate by sending back and forth DataPacket objects which contain a clientId, headerMessage and an object of your choosing. This library specifically has a built-in class to wrap commands using a functional interface in order to transport method calls over to the server and execute them with serverside information/serverside objects.
