Engineering Manager @BRG | Full Stack Software Engineer | 10+ Years Experience | M.S. in Computer Science
I’m a Software Engineering Manager who enjoys building high-performing teams and getting my hands dirty in the code. My background is in distributed systems (MSc Computer Science, KU Leuven), and I’ve worked across startups and scale-ups as both an engineer and a people leader. Today, I split my time between coaching engineers, improving systems, and shipping real product. Because I believe the best engineering leaders stay close to the work. I’m particularly interested in: • Building scalable, simple systems • Developer experience and team effectiveness • Turning complex problems into practical solutions Longer term, my goal is to grow into technical leadership roles where I can help build and scale strong products, and eventually become a founder. Outside of work you’ll usually find me running middle-distance track sessions, strength training, or in the mountains when I get the chance.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's diverse experience, from a startup (Elimity) to a large organization (Brussels Airport Company), indicates adaptability to different work environments. Their involvement in scaling teams and managing HR aspects suggests a proactive and growth-oriented mindset. The educational background and continuous learning (Harvard certificate) point to a strong drive for personal and professional development. The target role of Data Analyst, while related to their past team management, is a shift from direct engineering management, which might require adjustment.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's experience as a Scrum Master/Engineering Manager and Product Engineer suggests strong leadership, team coordination, and product development skills. The description of mitigating security risks and directing incident systems indicates operational resilience and problem-solving under pressure. The Harvard Business School Online certificate in Leadership Principles further supports a focus on leadership and management.
