AIR - Automatic Inhalation Resuscitator
September 1, 2019 – Present
This is an auxilary device that is used to reduce the medical attention and expertise required to operate a bag valve mask, or BVM. It can be used in developing countries as a simple, inexpensive mechanical ventilator, or even as an aid to paramedics in resuscitation efforts. Amidst the COVID-19 crisis, it could potentially be further improved to work as a worldwide alternative to traditional mechanical ventilators. - capable of operating within 2% of target tidal volume and breath rates - adjustable to accomodate adult, child, and infant age groups - airway blockage detection - relatively cheap, simple to set up and use - pressure delivered on a relative scale Awards - Baylis Medical Capstone Design Award - Overall Presentation Quality
Truss Failure Analysis Application
June 1, 2017 – July 1, 2017
Utilized max-load equations as well as Python's Qt software framework binding to create a user-friendly GUI application that calculates the modes of failure in a crane boom truss design. The program allows users to create a design with detailed specifications, calculate results, and make changes where necessary. Designs can also be saved and loaded in the future for improvements.
Medication Sorter
November 1, 2015 – Present
Constructed and programmed a robot using RobotC to read patient information from a text file and distribute medication accordingly. The pills were sorted into weekly organizers.
LED Matrix
January 1, 2015 – Present
64x32 LED matrix capable of displaying custom messages sent from an android app made especially for the project. The app was also able to switch the matrix into a game mode to play the game "Brick Breaker".
Printed Circuit Board Manufacturing
October 1, 2014 – Present
Manufactured a PCB from scratch, starting with schematics in EAGLE CAD, etching copper boards using ferric chloride, and soldering components.
