Master Project in Team based Software engineering
October 1, 2012 – December 1, 2012
Description: This project was organized by Fraunhofer IESE with John Deere as the customer. The goal of this project was to develop a task management and navigation application for the G-Six device which is installed in the tractors of John Deere. This application was also supposed to provide the upcoming weather condition for the next two days on an hourly basis for the farmers. The application followed a three tier architecture with the user interface, application logic and data on three different levels. The user interface was developed using JAVA FX and the application logic was written in C++. The data was stored in a non-relational database named CouchDB. The team involved in this project consisted of eight members. Role: Project manager and developer Responsibility: As a project manager I had to create the project plan and resource allocation plan and coordinate all the activities going on in the project. The tool I used for conducting all project management activities was TRAC which also was a ticketing tool in itself. As a developer I mainly focused on writing the logic to retrieve weather information from a web service by making rest requests and developing the user interface for displaying the weather data. I was also involved in the development of some modules of the application logic.
ITIL Foundation

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate has a diverse background working in various companies from large enterprises (IBM, Amazon, Zalando) to scale-ups (Flink, HelloFresh). Their experience in leading engineering teams and driving technical initiatives suggests a proactive and results-oriented approach. The project experience also shows an ability to work in team-based environments. However, the candidate's recent career trajectory is heavily skewed towards backend engineering and management, which does not align well with a dedicated Frontend Developer role, potentially indicating a mismatch in current career aspirations for this specific role.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate demonstrates strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills through their management roles. Their experience in standardizing observability and incident management practices indicates a focus on operational excellence and process improvement. The ITIL Foundation certification further supports an understanding of service management best practices. However, the target role is 'Frontend Developer', which is a significant mismatch with the candidate's recent backend and management-heavy experience.
