Threat Defender: Deep Learning-Driven Cybersecurity for Ransomware Detection
December 1, 2024 – April 1, 2025
Designed and implemented a deep learning-based ransomware detection model using behavioral features such as API calls, file operations, and network activity logs to distinguish benign from malicious processes with high accuracy. Built an end-to-end pipeline for data preprocessing, including feature extraction, normalization, handling class imbalance, and train-test splitting for ransomware datasets. Achieved significant improvements in key metrics (accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score) over traditional signature-based and classical machine learning ransomware detection methods. Integrated the model into a prototype "Threat Defender" security module capable of real-time monitoring and alerting for suspicious ransomware-like activity on endpoints.
Helmet Detection System for Workplace Safety
April 1, 2024 – May 1, 2024
Built a two-stage object detection pipeline trained on a 5,000-image dataset to identify helmets and improve workplace safety monitoring. Implemented color segmentation, edge detection, and regression-based region classification to generate accurate bounding boxes for helmet detection. Deployed a real-time Streamlit interface that automatically flags non-compliant individuals in video feeds for immediate safety enforcement.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's academic projects demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and applying AI/ML concepts. The diversity of projects (cybersecurity, workplace safety) indicates a broad interest in applying AI to different domains. The certifications further support a commitment to continuous learning. The target role of 'AI Engineer' aligns well with the candidate's project experience and certifications, suggesting a good cultural fit for a role focused on innovation and technical problem-solving in AI.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's project descriptions indicate an ability to work on complex technical problems and deliver functional prototypes. Participation in a coding contest suggests problem-solving aptitude. The internship at Cisco, though networking-focused, shows exposure to a professional environment. However, without specific behavioral assessment data, it's difficult to fully assess collaboration, stress handling, or work attitude.
