Vehicle Pattern Recognition using Machine & Deep Learning
June 28, 2026 – Present
Developed an Intelligent Transport System (ITS) framework to automate Vehicle Make and Model Recognition (VMMR) and address the limitations of manual human interpretation and traditional License Plate Recognition (LPR). Designed and implemented a CNN from scratch to extract hierarchical features, capturing edges in initial layers and complex shapes in subsequent levels. Leveraged the VGG16 model's FC-6 layer for deep feature extraction and utilized a Genetic Algorithm (GA) to reduce the feature vector from 4,096 to 2,013, isolating the most discriminant data points. Achieved a high classification accuracy of 98.2% by feeding the optimized feature vector into an SVM with a Quadratic kernel, significantly outperforming standard KNN and traditional Machine Learning approaches. Managed the full project lifecycle, including data collection of annotated vehicle images, preprocessing (resizing and normalization), and data augmentation to enhance model diversity.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's profile shows a strong academic focus and a clear interest in Python development, aligning with the target role. The academic project demonstrates initiative and a problem-solving mindset. The internship and certification indicate a willingness to acquire practical skills. However, the limited professional experience and project diversity (one academic project) mean there is less data to assess broader cultural fit aspects such as adaptability to different team structures or diverse project environments.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's resume indicates a proactive approach to learning and skill development through academic projects, internships, and certifications. The detailed description of the academic project suggests an ability to manage project lifecycles and apply complex algorithms. However, without specific behavioral or teamwork data, it is difficult to assess soft skills like collaboration, problem-solving under pressure, or communication in a team setting.
