'AnonymIT' Conference
January 1, 2014 – Present
AnonymIT is a conference on, you guessed it, anonymity on the internet. It is this year's event from SNiC, which is a foundation that organises a yearly conference on Computer Science each year in The Netherlands. There will be roughly 300 attendees, and the budget is around €40k. The conference will be held on November 18th of this year. I am responsible for finding great technical talks that deal with technical sub-themes of anonymity on the internet, but also some that approach the issue on the level of society. We are mainly looking into crypto-currencies, workings like Tor, and the before-mentioned social approaches. Ideally, this conference will have a clear message.
'CIO of the Future' Conference
December 1, 2012 – March 1, 2013
A symposium with the theme "CIO of the Future", organised by a committee from Study Association Sticky. Attendees (students) got an afternoon of talks by CIO's or similar high-ups from companies like SAS, Heineken, P&G and Akzo Nobel. There was also a panel discussion about a supposed gap between higher education and the job market. I was in charge of PR. I built the website for the project, and wrote the ticket system. We managed to sell all tickets, and had to resort to placing extra chairs to accommodate for the amount of interested students. Both companies and students were very content. It was a highly successful afternoon.
Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's diverse experience across various companies (Vercel, Mercury, iterative.ai, Channable, Senfal Energie Nederland) and roles (Software Engineer, DevOps, Technical Lead, Co-Founder) indicates adaptability. Involvement in organizing technical conferences ('AnonymIT', 'CIO of the Future') suggests a proactive and community-oriented mindset, which can be a positive cultural fit. However, the projects listed are primarily event organization, not directly related to security engineering, which might indicate a gap in direct cultural alignment for a dedicated security role. The lack of specific security-related projects or experience makes it difficult to fully assess cultural fit for a Security Engineer role.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's experience in leadership roles (Technical Lead, Team Lead - DevOps) and project management for conferences suggests strong organizational, leadership, and potentially communication skills. The ability to manage projects like 'AnonymIT' and 'CIO of the Future' indicates initiative and responsibility. However, without specific details on collaboration or problem-solving within teams, a full assessment of operational fit is limited.
