I proposed a project that using camera-based device to read printed texts. The basic structure or method is to implement image capturing techniques established on Raspberry Pi board. Then using Optical Character Recognition, it can translate the captured image to the text output. After that the blind person can listen to the printed text of that image by using Text to Speech method. The basic model is image to text conversion and text to speech conversion done by the Optical Character Recognition which linked to the Raspberry Pi board. The device is small-scale and easy practicable task with small setup.
