Mainframe TO AWS
January 1, 2025 – May 1, 2025
This project involves the end-to-end migration of legacy mainframe applications and batch jobs to Amazon Web Services (AWS) for AT&T. The goal is to reduce infrastructure cost, improve scalability, and modernize the legacy architecture using a re-platforming approach. The project includes data transformation, environment setup, job validation, and cloud-native implementation aligned with industry best practices. Responsibilities: Performed file trapping and parsing of EBCDIC formatted mainframe datasets. Converted files to ASCII using Data turn (ETL tool) and Data match (validation engine), ensuring 99.9% data consistency. Stored transformed datasets in Amazon S3 with proper lifecycle policies, versioning, and object tagging. Executed and validated batch jobs using AWS EC2 and AWS Batch to mirror original mainframe logic. Monitored job health via AWS CloudWatch and set up proactive alerts for jobs.
Mainframe TO GCP
May 1, 2024 – July 1, 2024
The primary goal of the Mainframe Definity Migration Project is to migrate existing applications and data from traditional mainframe infrastructure to a modernized environment, typically leveraging cloud platforms or distributed systems. This migration is driven by the need to enhance agility, reduce operational costs, and improve overall efficiency in IT operations. Implementing migration strategies such as lift-and-shift, re-platforming, or re-architecting, depending on application requirements. Responsibilities: Analysis on identifying the redefines clause in Copybooks. Deep Understanding of Cobol - Db2 & JCL Programs. Gathering and understanding the requirements. Automated bulk FTP/SFTP transfers via PowerShell, improving delivery speed by 40%. Interacting with onsite coordinates. Involved on Review Activities.
Claims Processing
September 1, 2019 – April 1, 2022
ACT stands for Automated Claims transactions area Property and Casualty System (in the AIG Protection Technology – APT area). Our team handles every process related to claims. Every quarter we receive work requests for implementing important enhancements to keep the system in compliance with the customer's need and legal requisites. Our SDLC phase is implemented by following waterfall model. Along with the work requests our project also involves production support activities. APPis a crucial bridge between the upstream and downstream systems as payments are being handled in APP and based on which the data and reports are sent to the downstream Systems. Responsibilities: Analysis of Functional Design document provided by the clients. Preparing the Technical Design Documentation. Handling change requests, coding report generation programs. Involved in coding of programs using COBOL, DB2, JCL and VSAM. Involved in coding, unit testing. Providing QA Defect support.
